Not the best writing day ever…

But not a total bust either. I got 1400+ words on the next Tindiere story (it follows up after Inina’s Blessings of Joy). More importantly, I reworked the template for my POD books and ended up with something I’m happier with. Probably no one else will notice the tweaks but I do so it’s all good.

In the process of that I got the next story to be released (The Hole Inside) almost completely ready for publication. I need to proofread it, of course, and do final fidgety formatting but I could release it next week if I wanted to. The cover’s already done.

I’m… pondering that. I mean, I don’t have covers for any stories after that so that means I’d be waiting another three weeks or so before the next story but… I don’t know. I may release it early and then whomp up a cover for the story after that (Smut, so it could be something really simple, I suppose).

Don’t know yet.

Tomorrow’s my 20th wedding anniversary! We’re planning on going out to see Iron Man 3, then out to dinner. I may buy myself a Kobo Mini. Much as I love my Kindle Fire, if the Kobo Mini allows me to create custom lists and shows non-Kobo purchased books with their covers, it might be a good thing. Besides, it’s only ~$80 plus tax and I still have money left from my Christmas bonus.

Yeah, I know. I’ve been hoarding it, what can I say?

But that’s not for sure. We’ll see what I decide to do tomorrow. For now I’m going to head off to an early bath and early bedtime so that I’m bright and perky for tomorrow.

:) Another book up and running!

I just finished uploading Sound of Obedience, my next book, to CreateSpace, Amazon and Smashwords. They should be reviewed and approved in the next day or so. Once it’s okay, I’ll link everyone here and elsewhere to it.

It’s my first actual erotica novel so I’m kind of nervous, kind of excited. While there was a little bit of very mild sex in Fitting In, this one starts with smut and continues with it for quite a ways. So, you know, nerves. *wry smile*

Writing was a little low today. I only managed about 1800 words, split between my latest Muirin story and a sequel to Inina’s Blessings of Joy that decided to bite my butt. What can you do when the plot bunnies latch on and refuse to let go? *shrug*

But my eyes are super-tired now so I’m off to bath and bed. Goodnight everyone!

But I got Sound of Obedience proofread. That means I’m on track to getting it published by Friday. :)

Ah, I feel better!

My arm still hurts (though less than it did this morning—the brace seems to be helping) but I managed to finish another story.

And this one actually is short! :D

It’s another smut story set in the Debts to Recover ‘verse. And this time it’s pretty much pure smut with virtually no redeeming value whatsoever.

*laughs*

It was fun to write though and I’ll end up selling it eventually, maybe in June. Not sure that I’ll put it into a TPB format given that it’s under 2000 words but we’ll see.

Now to get some work done while I’m at work. ;)

At least I got a little bit of writing done. Today’s writing time was spent on formatting my next story to release, Sound of Obedience. It’s smut and I hope to have it out by Friday for everyone to read.

I also worked on the cover for Obedience and the next story after that, The Hole Inside, which is also smutty. XD

My mom has gone home. *tired cheer*

Don’t get me wrong, I love my mom and having her stay with us wasn’t at all torture. I enjoyed having her here.

But.

I’m not that comfortable sharing my space with my husband on a daily basis (sadly). Adding another person and her little dog completely disrupts all my routines.

*tired sigh*

So her being here was good but her going home is better.

Enough said there.

Plans for the week include getting Sound of Obedience up for people to buy, posting the first chapter of Fitting In on my WP site for everyone to read and actually finishing another couple of stories. Plus hopefully finding another artist or two who would like to do covers for me. I’ve got three now but I sort of need at least one more.

*sighs and squirms* Asking artists to do cover commissions is unreasonably hard sometimes for me. #^^#

Anyway, back to work and back to normal life for me!

I have a plot for Stormy Arrival! ETA: Oops, I meant Repair and Rebuild, not Stormy Arrival. #^^#

And I was right that it’s going to be a long one. Right now it looks like it’ll end up being around 17 chapters, maybe 20 but 17 seems right. That puts it at somewhere around 42,000 words when complete.

*dies a little*

HOW did I think this was a short story???

I swear, someday I will learn the secret to short stories. Someday. Obviously today is not that day, though.

At least it’s almost lunch time.

/random post of random writing rambling

Yeah, I was tired today.

Most days I manage between 1500 and 2500 words. A good day is 3100-3600 words.

Today I wrote 5093 words on my newest Muirin story. Plus I got a fair amount of work done.

It’s kind of surprising how much more productive I am when I’m too tired to give a shit about anything.

I’ve got no idea where the story’s going (once again) but it seems solid. I’m having fun exploring Raelin’s character. I’m getting in some good bits of world building and history for the Dana family.

So its all good.

But I swear I’m going to bed early tonight so that I can get a good night’s sleep. I don’t like being wiped all day. -_-;

Because I’m tired and headachey…

…but still working or at least trying to work, have a random factoid that I noticed this morning.

For me, a short story is between 10,000 and 15,000 words.

Naturally, I mean. I can write shorter if I really work at it but its not easy for me. When I just let myself write whatever I want to write and let the short story be whatever length it wants to be, I end up with a story that’s between 10K and 15K.

*shrugs*

Not upset about that or anything. I’m just tired and headachey enough to find it mildly odd that I’m long-format no matter what I try.

*goes back to trying to work while exhausted*

The special editions are in the mail at last! They should be there within a week, always presuming the US postal service does its job well. *crosses fingers*

I made my minimum word count goal for the day (just over 1800 words) on the new Muirin story. Didn’t make my 2500 word goal but that’s life. I can deal with that. It was a busy day at work and I spent the evening talking to my hubby and mom so hey, it’s good I got that much.

Tomorrow’s goal will as always be minimum 1500 word, hopefully more than that. I do need to redo my publishing schedule and make sure that the dates for the covers is correct. Plus figure out which ones I want to commission for the future and from who.

I really should go take a bath and listen to the lectures for my Cliffhangers class but for the second day in a row I’m just too tired to do it so I’m going to say goodnight everyone and go to bed.
